First Micro SUV by TATA announced – TATA HBX MICRO SUV
Tata has confirmed that the new tata HBX
micro SUV will launch in next fiscal year, launch date will confirm later. This
adventurous ready car is based on the H2X concept which was unveiled at Geneva
Motor Show 2019 and according to TATA, the concept car which is shown in Auto Expo
2020, Delhi was 90% close to the actual production car. Like Tata Altroz this model
is based on ALFA platform. ALFA means Agile, Light, Flexible, Advanced. This
car was scheduled to launch in the second half of the year, but unfortunately due
COVID-19, launch date is delayed and the exact date is not confirmed by the automaker.
Tata Motors confirmed that it will be positioned below the Tata Nexon and will
call it as Micro SUV. TATA HBX is expected to be launch only in petrol version.
At this
point it is not confirmed by the Tata Motors, but the model could debut the Tata’s
direct-injection version’s 1.2L turbo-petrol engine. Base engine option can be Revotron
1.2L petrol engine inspired by Altroz. Like Exterior the interior of the model
too will be largely based on the concept car. I expect TATA HBX with best-in-class
connectivity feature in the Infotainment system, automatic climate control and gearbox will be typical 5-speed Manual and an AMT variant. Even the compass will be placed
in the dashboard.
Talking
about the exterior, they give the car muscular touch with floating style roof
rack and the gigantic alloy wheels (sadly the wheel shown in the picture will not be in
actual). The front is well built with sleek headlamps and it features the Tata family
grille which looks similar to the Nexon facelift and faux plate under the
bottom of all side represents the SUV nature and it shows the car is ready to go on
a little adventure ride. From the side, it looks
like the boxy design is given and a strong shoulder line meets in the rear. In the rear,
the Tri-allow designs LED light is placed and sculpted tailgate. As compared to
Maruti Suzuki Ignis the HBX is taller and longer.
As of now
the direct-injection engine is not decided the Revotron engine which is
inspired by Altroz will come. This engine comes in 1199cc three-cylinder engine
which produces 85bhp and torque of 113nm @ 3300rpm.
At this
the point we can safely say that there is no rival but the close rival can be
Ignis, S Presso and Mahindra KUV100. Expected price – 5-8lac.
