2020 MERCEDES – BENZ GLC COUPE FACELIFT LAUNCH DATE IN INDIA ANNOUNCED

The Mercedes – Benz GLC Coupe is launched on 3rd March in India. GLC is launching exactly one year after its global debut in Geneva Motor Show 2019. The best part is the car will come with the upcoming Bharat VI (BS6) regulations. Probably this is the first GLC coupe will come with the regular version, unlike the last model we got only AMG version. We expect the car to come in GLC 300 and GLC 300d form. Petrol variant of GLC coupe takes 6.3 seconds for 0-100kmph, and diesel variant takes 6.6 seconds for 0-100kmph. This car comes with 5 different driving modes so this car has everything for everyone.

 INTERIOR

The Coupe-SUV will also come with the updated powertrain. The biggest change that Mercedes made is the updated MBUX infotainment system. Mercedes will provide infotainment system 2 variants: 1) 10.25-inch touch screen with MBUX interface as standard offer and 2) 12.3-inch instrument cluster. Further, it will also be equipped with all-new multifunction steering wheel. This new MBUX system is operated with ‘Hey Mercedes’ command.

 EXTERIOR

Let’s talk about the exterior section, Mercedes GLC Coupe includes new LED headlamps, new signature diamond pattern grille, front and rear bumpers have given a new look. Thanks to the new slopping roofline in Coupe – SUV, it gives the unique look the car. Other styling update includes tail lamps, revised alloy wheels, improved moulded diffuser and angular exhaust tips.

ENGINE

As mentioned earlier this new GLC Coupe will come in 2 variants i.e. GLC 300(petrol) and GLC 300d(diesel). The petrol variant GLC coupe is powered by 2.0L four-cylinder petrol engine produces 258hp and 370nm of torque, while the diesel variant GLC coupe is also powered by 2.0L four-cylinder turbo diesel engine which develops 245hp and 500nm of torque and this will be taken care by a 9G- Tronic automatic transmission. Mercedes 4-Matic all-wheel-drive would be offered as a standard package. The claimed mileage for diesel variant is 16.3kmpl and petrol variant is 12.74kmpl.

PRICE

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe launched at rs62.70 lakh for the diesel variant and rs63.70 lakh for the petrol variant. Porsche Macan and BMW X4 are the rivals for the petrol variant and while the diesel variant is niche positioning. Stay tuned for more info on GLC coupe.

First Micro SUV by TATA announced – TATA HBX MICRO SUV

Tata has confirmed that the new tata HBX micro SUV will launch in next fiscal year, launch date will confirm later. This adventurous ready car is based on the H2X concept which was unveiled at Geneva Motor Show 2019 and according to TATA, the concept car which is shown in Auto Expo 2020, Delhi was 90% close to the actual production car. Like Tata Altroz this model is based on ALFA platform. ALFA means Agile, Light, Flexible, Advanced. This car was scheduled to launch in the second half of the year, but unfortunately due COVID-19, launch date is delayed and the exact date is not confirmed by the automaker.
