BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT
- The luxury of spontaneity – the freedom to take to the open road on your own terms. No other car on the road today exemplifies the spirit of life’s grand tour more than the Bentley Continental GT.
- The new model sports an even more powerful W12 twin turbo engine, up to 590 PS from 575 PS, and an innovative variable displacement system that creates more power, but with lower emissions than ever before.
- Alongside this increased performance is a suite of refinements to create the most luxurious travelling experience. They include a new, more sculpted and sporty steering wheel allowing the driver’s hands to fit, and connect, more closely with the car. There’s an optional semi-aniline hide that forms the enhanced straight-flute seating for an even more luxurious travelling experience. Supercar speed meets handcrafted luxury. The Bentley Continental GT is a stunning coupe that blends classic Bentley DNA with contemporary design and modern technology.
- The other engines remain where they were - the entry-level V8 has 500bhp, the up rated V8 S 521bhp. The W12 joins the V8 in having a cylinder shut-off system. No mean feat, you’d imagine, given that it has four banks of cylinders. Due to the engine’s massive torque, Bentley claims the 6.0-litre W12 can actually run as a 3.0-litre V6 quite a bit of the time. The official economy figure for the standard 6.0 has risen from 19.5 to 20.1mpg.

Exterior Design :
- Creating a new GT coupé
allowed designers of Bentley motors to combine inspiration from past iconic
Continental models with the most advanced technologies.
- The familiar haunch line – a crisp modern echo of the original 1950s R-Type Continental – has sharp, modern radii to create distinct surfaces giving a wide, confident and sporting feel.
Interior Design :
- They interior designers have skillfully evolved the Continental GT’s cabin to produce a stylish yet cocooning space. Incredible attention to detail has gone into making the interior as quiet and refined as possible.
- The new steering wheel introduces new knurled paddle-shift gear selectors and a new wheel shape to give an even more assured grip. Behind it, the instrument panel and dashboard subtly echo the flying wings of the Bentley motif. Fashioned from the highest quality soft-touch leathers and striking analogue dials that, at night, floods with ‘blood orange’ illumination. The dynamic cockpit area rises from the centre console in the form of dramatically surfaced ’wings’.
- The GT's distinctive new Mulliner GT Design seats now have the option to be crafted from semi-aniline hides for superior comfort. With front-seat ventilation as well as a state-of-the-art massage system.
V8 S is the one to have?
- It is if you like driving. It manages its weight better than the W12, and does a passable impression of sportiness. The body control is exceptional for something weighing over 2.2 tones
- As I said before, this car is already so well targeted at its audience, I don’t think there’s much Bentley can do that they’re not already doing. The only obvious ‘improvement’ would be to add hybrid technology to boost the smoothness/torque appeal yet further.
- According to CEO Wolfgang Schreiber said that “by the end of this decade 90 per cent of Bentleys would be available with hybrid technology.”
Mulliner Driving Specification :
- The Mulliner Driving Specification adds exclusivity without detracting from the purity of the Continental GT’s design. For the exterior, unique 21" 7 Twin-spoke alloy wheels with a choice of painted or polished finishes develop the sporting theme. Inside, the Mulliner Driving Specification includes quilted perforated hide seats, door infill and rear three-quarter panels with embroidered Bentley emblems on the headrests, while the knurled sports gear lever and drilled alloy sports foot pedals recall Bentley’s grand touring heritage.
- For the GT Coupé indented leather headlining is also part of the Mulliner Driving Specification. A Jewel fuel and oil filler cap provides the finishing touch.
- With the Continental GT, they have not made any compromises. It’s the little things that count. We knew it was just as important to have somewhere to instantly stow your sunglasses, mobile phone, keys or any other item so you can remain comfortable, relaxed and enjoy your coupé’s sumptuous interior.
Infotainment system :
- The Continental GT boasts touchscreen technology. The system – designed specifically by Bentley – uses a combination of touchscreen controls and classic knurled rotary switches to offer instant usability and crystal-clear feedback.
- Even the graphic interface of the touchscreen was created in-house to ensure its visuals were completely in keeping with the style of the whole interior. Look closely and you will see that the knurled switches on the screen are ‘virtual’ echoes of the real knurled switches below.
Navigation and Connectivity :
- As you drive, the Continental GT's infotainment system provides real-time monitoring of your tyre pressures, access to your phone contacts (either via Bluetooth or by inserting your SIM card) and the opportunity to zoom in or out of mapping at the touch of a finger. You can even opt for built-in Wi-Fi should you wish.
- The bespoke Naim for Bentley system, incorporating custom-built speakers and eight individual DSP modes, is available as an option for your Continental GT, turning the cockpit of a Bentley into the equal of any concert venue in the world.
- An 8-speed close-ratio transmission and innovative Variable Displacement system, the W12 twin-turbo engine creates less emissions than before, despite the increase in power.
